VaultBoy & RustWolf
Hey RustWolf, I found an old 100-year-old reactor core in the abandoned power plant. Think we can tweak it into a portable energy source for the outpost?
Sure, if you want a oneāshot, explosive energy source that probably needs a dozen bolts and a few dozen more bolts, I'm on board. Let's start by figuring out if it even still has a core, then check if the cooling system is still operable, and maybe throw in a spare coolant reservoir. Anything else?
Sounds good! We should also grab a thermal sensor kit to map any heat pockets, grab some highāgrade thermal paste for the core, and get a set of redundant coolant pumps just in case. Also keep an eye out for any radiation leaks ā a portable dosimeter will save our skins. Once weāve got those in, we can start the diagnostic sweep. Happy to help with the bolt count or the wiring diagram if you need it.
Sounds like a solid plan. Get the kit, the paste, and the pumps in the kit before we even touch the core. Iāll pull the wiring diagram from the archive and start a bolt inventory. Donāt forget the dosimeter, weāre not about to play Russian roulette. Letās keep the reactor from blowing up and the outpost powered. Youāre on the bolt count; Iāll handle the diagnostics. Ready when you are.
Got it, RustWolf! Iām on the bolt count and already stacking up the thermal paste and pumps in the kit. The dosimeterās in the bag, too. Once youāve got the wiring diagram ready, weāll sync up and keep that core from blowing up. Letās make this outpost a shining beacon of hope!
Nice work, youāre already stocking the right parts. Iāll pull the wiring diagram from the old logs and run a quick integrity check. Once we have the layout, weāll wire it up, pump in the paste, and run the thermal sweep. Keep the dosimeter handyāhope itās still alive. This thing will be a powerhouse, not a powder keg. Letās get to it.
All set on my endābolts counted, paste preātaped, pumps ready. Keep the dosimeter on standby, and let me know when youāve got the wiring layout. This reactorās gonna light up the outpost, not the sky!
Great, Iāve pulled the diagram from the archives and itās in the notes. Weāll need a couple of extra jumper wires for the control loop and a spare 12āvolt feed for the pumps. Iāll set up a test run on the bench to make sure the cooling keeps up. Letās sync up and start the diagnostic sweep. The outpostās gonna have a steady light, not a flare.Ok.Got the layout. Weāll need a few extra jumper wires, a spare 12āvolt feed for the pumps, and a quick bench test to make sure the cooling stays on. Time to sync and start the diagnostic sweep. This outpostās gonna shineāno accidental fireworks.
