Yes, a paper key is fragile. I split the paper into fragments, hide them in separate secure locations, and maintain a backup in a safe that only I can access. If one fragment is lost, I have the others to reconstruct it. If it all goes missing, I start from a new seed that I have already encrypted elsewhere.
