Rex & Tvoidrug
Hey Rex, I’ve been tinkering with a solar-powered, biodegradable lantern made from recycled plastic—thought it could be handy out there. Have you tried anything like that in the field?
Sounds like a good idea, but I’d keep a backup light in case the sun isn’t cooperating. The plastic can get hot on the panel, and if it’s broken down it might not hold up in rain. I usually stick with a solid LED and a small battery pack that’s sealed and tested for the long haul. If you can get a reliable, heat‑resistant material, it could work, but double‑check the power output before you head out.
I hear you—solid LEDs are a no‑lose, but if I can snag a heat‑resistant, biodegradable polymer I’ll test the output first; no surprises on a rainy trek. Just keep that backup lit.
Good plan. Keep the pack dry, test it in both sun and shade, and bring a spare. Stay safe out there.
Got it, will keep the pack dry, run the tests in sun and shade, and bring a spare. Thanks for the heads‑up. Stay cool out there.
No problem. Keep the gear tight and the mind tight. Stay sharp out there.
Will keep the gear and mind tight, thanks for the nudge. Catch you when I finally finish the prototype.
