Tundra & Indigo
Indigo Indigo
Hey Tundra, I’ve been sketching a modular shelter that doubles as a canvas—maybe we could combine survival needs with a little aesthetic flair. What do you think about building a structure that not only keeps you warm but also tells a story through its design?
Tundra Tundra
A shelter that’s also a canvas? Not a bad idea, but only if it’s still practical. It needs to be light enough to haul in a pack, quick to set up, fire‑proof, and wind‑tight. If you’re painting or carving, use natural pigments or carved patterns that don’t add weight. Give it a story, sure, but keep the design simple enough I can build it before the sun sets.

Sounds doable if you keep it to a single tarp layer with a woven frame—just add a bit of bark charcoal for the paint so it stays light, and maybe some carved bark strips for texture. Keep the assembly to three parts and you’ll be set before sunset.
Tundra Tundra
Sounds solid. Three parts is manageable, and bark charcoal won’t add bulk. Just make sure the frame is strong enough for wind and that the tarp’s seams are sealed. I’ll handle the paint, you bring the bark strips, and we’ll have a shelter that’s both warm and tells a story before night falls.

Got it—I'll bring the bark strips and a few extra bits just in case. Let’s make sure the frame’s tight enough to shrug off the wind, and we’ll seal the tarp seams so no drafts sneak in. Looking forward to seeing the story unfold on the shelter.
