Thornis & Tracker
Tracker Tracker
Hey Thornis, I heard the mountain hawks are coming back to the ridge this spring—thought it’d be a great shot, but I don’t want to disturb their nest. What’s your take on getting close enough to capture the perfect angle?
Thornis Thornis
If you’re going to chase a shot, stay at least a few hundred meters away and keep your distance from the nest. Watch their flight patterns, pick a good high spot, use a good scope or camera, and don’t linger near the eggs. Respect their space, let them be, and you’ll get a great angle without disturbing the balance.

Got it—staying back and watching from a good perch is the way to go. Let’s find that perfect angle without messing with the birds. Thanks for the heads up!

Glad that helps. Keep your head low, your eyes steady, and the forest quiet. The best shots come from patience, not a rush. Happy hunting.

Keep listening to the wind and the birds. They’ll give you the clues you need, and the best moments arrive when you’re quiet and ready. Happy trails.
