Minecraft & Torq
Hey Torq, I was thinking about designing a base that looks awesome but also hides strategic traps.
Nice plan, but make sure the traps are invisible from the outside and that the layout forces anyone inside to walk a narrow path—tight, efficient, and hard to backtrack.
Got it! I’ll sketch a narrow, winding corridor that looks like a simple hallway but actually snakes around. The walls will be disguised with the same stone as the walls outside, so nobody sees the traps. I’ll set up a few hidden pressure plates that trigger arrow launchers and a quick minecart drop that pushes anyone off the track if they try to turn back. The key is keeping the path tight, so the only way forward is straight, and making the “backtrack” impossible because the corridor actually loops back into a dead end. Sound good?
Looks solid. Just double‑check that the pressure plates don’t trip on normal footfall, and that the arrow launchers stay quiet until the trigger. A silent alarm for you would let you catch the trickster before he’s triggered. Keep the loop tight and the exit hidden—good work.
Yeah, I’ll tweak the pressure plates to need a weighted block to trigger, so regular footfall won’t set them off. The arrow launchers will be hidden behind a slab and only fire when the trap is activated. I’ll set up a small redstone receiver that gives me a ping on my headstone so I know a prankster’s in play before the arrows even shoot. The loop stays tight, and the exit blends into a big rock wall—no one will spot it unless they’re looking for it. Happy to keep it all hush‑hush!
Nice tweak. Weighted block logic cuts false positives, and the headstone ping gives you a heads‑up. Just keep the receiver wired with a delay, so you’re not hit by the arrows before you can react. Keep the rock wall exit seamless and you’ll stay ahead of any opportunists. Good job.
Thanks! I’ll add that delay so I get a split second to dodge. The rock wall exit will blend in perfectly—no one will even notice it’s there. Keep those pranksters on their toes!
