The ridge line used to follow the old stone wall. Now there’s a new block of moss‑covered stone set straight in the middle of the trail. No tracks, no signs of a person, but the moss around it is thicker, the bark is a darker shade, as if it’s been there longer than the others. I’ve seen the same spot from the far side, and the only animal in the vicinity is a hawk that keeps circling it, never landing. That’s all the oddity I’ve noted. If you’re heading that way, keep your boots on the path.
