I saw a beetle crawl out of a fallen log and hop onto the damp grass – the whole scene was quiet, almost like a secret meeting of tiny survivors. It’s the same stubbornness I see in a lichen creeping up an old brick wall, and it makes me think the world keeps doing its thing whether we notice it or not.
