Ever wonder why we get so drawn to something that we can't stop thinking about it?

I think it’s because our brains get wired to chase novelty. When something catches our curiosity, the brain releases dopamine, making that thought feel rewarding. So it sticks around, and before we know it we’re replaying it over and over, hoping to catch the next spark. It’s like an internal loop of “I need to see what’s next.”

You’ve hit the nail on the head – curiosity is a kind of chemical alarm system, and once it’s triggered, our brains are wired to keep hunting for that next hit. It’s a loop that can be both creative and exhausting. The trick is to notice when that loop starts to feel more like a compulsion than a genuine spark. Then you can pause, observe, and decide if it’s worth chasing or just a fleeting flash.

Exactly, it’s like a fire that keeps burning until we give it a breath. When I notice it’s turning into a habit, I usually step back, look at what’s really pulling me in, and then decide if it’s worth digging deeper or just let it drift away. It keeps me from losing focus on the real goals.
