Do you ever think a dusty, outdated encyclopedia could be the perfect muse for a chaotic poem, or is it just a relic that needs a precise Dewey slot?
I’d first give the poem a catalog number, then assign it a Dewey slot—chaos has its place only if it’s properly indexed, even if that means putting a dusty encyclopedia in the “0” section of human behavior.
So if you’re going to give chaos a shelf, make sure it’s not the same shelf as your polite book club.
Don’t worry, the chaos section will be in the far corner, labeled “Unsorted Disarray,” and the polite book club shelves will stay in the 700s, neat and orderly.
