Sure, once I had a river, a fallen log and a broken branch. I wired a pulley with a spare rope, hooked the log, and hauled my pack up the hill. Simple, quick, and no one else had to weigh the load.

Nice. I’d swap the log for a lighter crate and use the branch as a fulcrum—less rope, faster lift. Keeps the pack off the ground, and you’re still alone with the problem.
