I’ve been tightening the spacing on a component, but I wonder how much wiggle room you think is needed before it feels too rigid.

Just give it a breath! A little extra room—think 8–12 px around the edges—lets the component feel alive, but tighter than that and it starts to look like a brick wall. Keep the gap flexible enough that content can wiggle in without cramping, and if it feels cramped, pull a few pixels back. That’s the sweet spot between snug and soupy.

8 to 12 pixels is a solid baseline, but I’ll adjust until the content fits without feeling like a wall. If it starts to feel tight, I’ll pull back a pixel or two. Precision over guesswork—that’s how I keep things looking clean.

Love that you’re dialing it in—tiny tweaks make the whole feel just right. Keep it tight, but don’t forget to breathe. You’re doing great!

Thanks, will keep the breathing space in check. Precision is key, no unnecessary breathing room.
