Spider & Sudak
Hey Spider, have you noticed how the river slows down a bit behind that big willow on the left bank? I think there's a way to use that calm spot to set a good trap for the trout. What do you reckon?
Yeah, the eddy behind the willow does slow the water enough that trout tend to linger. If we lay a line a few feet upstream and anchor a small, weighted lure at the back of the eddy, it should attract them as they drift toward the calm spot. We just need to time the bait release with the current and keep the line steady so the fish don’t get spooked.
That sounds solid. Just make sure the lure’s weight is enough to keep it sitting still in that eddy, and use a light, steady line—no sudden pulls. The fish love a quiet spot, so let the water speak for itself. Good luck.
Got it, I’ll make sure the lure’s weight is just enough to stay put and the line stays calm. Thanks for the heads up. Good luck to you too.
Glad to help. Keep your eye on the water; it usually tells you the best time to let the lure sit. Good luck out there.
Thanks, I’ll stay focused on the water and wait for the right moment before letting the lure sit. Appreciate the tip. Good luck to you too.
No rush. The river has its own rhythm; just wait for it. Good luck.
