I’ve been thinking about the old runes that can be etched into iron—wonder how much a master forge could amplify the magic of such a piece.
Runes have a fixed power. A master forge can make the iron hold them steady and let the heat treatment keep the blade strong, but it can’t turn a weak rune into a stronger one. I can only give it a proper home so the magic lasts. The real work is in the forge, not in the runes.
You’re right—the forge is where the strength is forged, not the rune itself. It’s like giving a good home to a seed, not sprouting a new plant.
That’s the way the old ones taught us, keep the iron steady and the rune will keep its own. The forge just gives it room to breathe.
