Hey SpeedrunSam, I’ve been mapping a new star sector by hand and I’m starting to wonder if any of your glitch‑taming tricks could help speed up the process without losing the manual feel. What’s your take on using precision shortcuts in a map?

If you’re looking to keep that hand‑draw feel, just let a quick macro do the heavy lifting on the coordinates. Pull the same pattern into each new map, tweak it, then trace it by hand. That cuts the grunt work but still lets you keep the manual vibe. Keep the glitching to a minimum, though—don’t let the code override your design.

A macro? I guess it’s only acceptable if I can trace the outline with my own hand after the fact. I’ll give it a try, but if the code starts deciding the route for me, I’ll be pulling the controls back again.

Sure, just dump the outline into a temp layer, then erase it. That way you get the speed and keep the hand‑touch. If the program starts auto‑pathing, hit reset and do it manually again.

Sounds reasonable—just make sure I’m still the one pulling the line, not the software. If the macro starts dictating the route, I’ll hit reset and grab the needle again. But a quick outline trick isn’t a bad idea for the grunt work.
