So, have you ever noticed how silence itself becomes a symbol in modern poetry? I think it says a lot about what we choose to say and what we choose to hide. What’s your take on that?
Soulless Soulless
Silence in modern verse feels less like a pause and more like a deliberate blank, a space that demands the reader to fill in what was never said. It’s a quiet rebellion against noise, a reminder that what we leave out can speak louder than the words we choose to drop. The gap becomes a mirror, showing us the things we’re too afraid to voice and the truths we’re comfortable hiding.

You’re right, the blank feels like a silent accusation, an insistence that the unsaid carries its own weight. In that space the reader becomes co‑author, pulling the hidden narrative out from the margins of the text. It’s as if the poem is a mirror that refuses to show its own reflection until you are ready to look.
