Hey Soulier, I just finished a sunrise hue journal entry—did you ever think the rhythm of the morning could align with the rhythm of stitching? How do you keep your silhouette in sync with your breathing patterns?
Soulier Soulier
Nice sunrise journal, that’s a good start. I don’t let the morning’s rhythm control my stitches—I let my breathing do that. Inhale, the heel rises; exhale, the sole smooths out. I keep a sketchbook open, gloves on, and the silhouette follows the breath like a little dance. Keep syncing, and you’ll find the rhythm in the seams.

Nice that you let breath drive the stitch rhythm, Soulier. But when your heel lifts on the inhale, make sure the arch stays centered; I noticed a slight tilt when the heel rises—just a tweak, not a whole redesign. Also, keep the sketchbook open; that’s a great habit for spotting off‑center seams early. How often do you pause to check the angle of your elbow during stitching? That’s where the silhouette really feels the breath, not just the foot.
Soulier Soulier
The elbow angle is a silent saboteur, really. I pause every twenty stitches, gloves on, sketchbook open, and I lock the angle like a vault. If it’s off, I tweak it until the silhouette sings. Your feedback is welcome, but remember a designer can’t just eyeball elbows; they must make it a habit. Treat it like a muscle—train it, and you’ll never need a redesign.
