Trava Trava
Hey Slon, I was thinking about how the soil changes with the seasons. Have you noticed any patterns that help you keep the garden thriving?
Slon Slon
I keep an eye on it all year. In spring the soil loosens, the rain makes it damp but not soggy, so roots can spread. By summer it dries out, so I mulch to keep the moisture in. In fall it cools and starts to hold more nutrients as the leaves decompose, so I add compost. Then winter it freezes and sits still; I just cover it so the layers don't get disturbed. It’s a steady rhythm – no surprises if I watch it.

That sounds wonderfully steady, like a quiet heartbeat. I love how you let each season do its work and you just sit with it. Do you have a favorite time of year when the garden feels most alive?
Slon Slon
I like spring the most. That first burst of green, the soil humming with life—it's when the garden really shows its potential. The rest of the year follows, but that initial push keeps everything in balance.

Spring always feels like a new beginning, doesn’t it? I love how the earth seems to open up, letting every tiny seed know it’s time to grow. What’s your favorite thing about that first burst of green?
Slon Slon
The first green shows the soil is ready, the ground is strong, and I can set the plan for the whole season. That’s what matters.
