Craftsman & Slan
Have you ever considered how the grain in a piece of wood tells a story about its life before becoming part of your work?
Every knot and swirl in the grain is a memory of how the tree grew, how the wind bent it, how the rain carved it. I listen to those lines before I even pick up a saw. They tell me where the heartwood sits, where the bark was thick, and sometimes a faint pattern that looks like a hidden map. It’s like the wood is giving me a backstage pass to its past, and I make sure my work keeps that story alive.
