Shadowfen & Liva
Hey Liva, I've been sketching a new VR mission that hinges on lunar phases and plant cues—think of a stealth path that shifts with a goat's mood or a herb's whispered response. How would you weave those rhythms into a gameplay loop?
Sure thing, let me try to weave a little rhythm into that. First, set a real moon timer in the game, so the player can feel the waxing and waning just like in the real world. Every full moon, give the goat a different mood—happy, nervous, sleepy—and change the color of the path or the type of obstacles. That way the player has to listen to the goat’s sighs or look for the faint glow it emits when it’s in a particular mood.
For the herbs, make them “talk” in a subtle way. Have a soft hum or a faint voice when the player is close enough to pick them, but only if they approach at the right phase of the moon. If the player tries to harvest too early or too late, the herb could vibrate or the ground could shift, pushing them back to the right spot.
Loop it like this: moon phase → goat mood → path change → herb cue → reward. Each cycle gives a small payoff—maybe a new piece of lore on the tree bark or a health boost. That keeps the player checking the moon and listening to the plants instead of just running. And hey, if they forget their boots, the goat might just toss them a spare pair on the side.
