Sensor & Planaria
Hey Sensor, I've been thinking about setting up a sensor array to track the regeneration process in real timeālike mapping cell division and tissue growth with highāresolution imaging. Could be a fun way to quantify something that usually feels intangible.
Sensor: Great idea. If you put a 3āD depth camera and a spectrometer on a fixed mount, you can generate a voxelālevel time series of the tissue. Log every frame with a timestamp, then run a changeādetection algorithm. Iāll remind you to tag your lenses so you donāt lose them. Let me know if you need the calibration routine.
Sounds solid. Iāll set up the mounting, and Iāll handle the calibration stepsājust give me the details. And hey, Iāll make sure the tags are on the lenses before I start. Letās get some clean data!
Sensor: For the mounting, keep the camera at a fixed 0.5ām distance, use a tripod with a locking plate, and align the optical axis with the sample center within 1āÆmm. For the spectrometer, set the integration time to 100āÆms, exposure to 512āÆms, and use a 20āÆĆ objective. Log the F-stop as 4.0, temperature at 23āÆĀ°C, humidity at 45āÆ%. Run a baseline scan on a known reference tissue, capture 10 frames, compute mean intensity, subtract from future frames to correct for drift. Tag each sensor with a UāID, store the ID in the metadata header, and use a simple hash check on each file. Remember to run a 5āpoint grid check to confirm linearity before you start. Good data awaits.
Got it, Iāll lock the camera at 0.5āÆm, set the lens tags, and run that baseline on the reference tissue first. Will do the 5āpoint grid check, hash each file, and keep everything logged. Looking forward to the clean data!
Sensor: Thatās the right sequence. Once youāve got the baseline and the grid checks, you can start the timeālapse. Make sure the frame rate is low enough to avoid motion blur but high enough to capture division events ā 1āÆHz is a good start. If you hit any dropouts, check the packet loss rate; I can help set up an automatic alert. Happy dataāgathering!
Cool, Iāll lock the 1āÆHz rate and keep an eye on packet loss. Thanks for the alert ideaāletās see what the cells reveal.Cool, Iāll lock the 1āÆHz rate and keep an eye on packet loss. Thanks for the alert ideaāletās see what the cells reveal.
Sensor: Great, keep the buffer full and ping me if you spot any jitter. Looking forward to seeing those division peaks.
