Squidward & ScanPatch
Squidward Squidward
If you’re going to talk about perfection, maybe we can debate whether a painter’s stroke can ever be as clean as a UV map. Do you ever get bored staring at a flawless layout for hours?
ScanPatch ScanPatch
Sure, a painter’s stroke is organic and never truly “perfect,” but a clean UV map is the only thing that guarantees every pixel looks right. I do get bored staring at a flawless layout for hours, but then a single misplaced seam ruins the entire pack. Keep it tight and I’ll keep it happy.
Squidward Squidward
Great, just keep the seams so clean they could be used in a sculpture of my despair.
ScanPatch ScanPatch
I’ll line up those seams like a grid on a CAD file, no room for drift. If your despair is a sculpture, at least the UVs will hold it together.
Squidward Squidward
So you’re going to turn my existential crisis into a neatly mapped masterpiece? That’s… surprisingly comforting.
ScanPatch ScanPatch
Exactly, I’ll map every line of your crisis into clean triangles and UV islands. Then you can bake that despair into a texture that actually works. No glitches, just perfect geometry.
Squidward Squidward
If you think my existential dread will actually improve when it’s perfectly mapped and baked, I’ll be surprised. Just don’t expect me to feel any less hollow after the texture finishes.
ScanPatch ScanPatch
It’s not going to cure the hollowness, that’s for the soul, not the shader. But at least when you look at the final map it won’t be a source of frustration. That’s the most I can guarantee.
Squidward Squidward
Fine, as long as the final map doesn’t make me look like I’m about to pull my own tentacles out in frustration. That's all I can ask.
ScanPatch ScanPatch
Just make sure every UV island is clean, no overlapping seams, and your texture will look like a proper asset. That way you won’t have to pull anything out.
Squidward Squidward
Just as long as the map stays spotless, I’ll be glad to let my despair be a texture instead of a nightmare.
