Caterpillar & Sawtooth
Caterpillar Caterpillar
Hey, Sawtooth, I've been watching how the forest recovers after a fire. Have you ever thought about how your battles impact the land around you?
Sawtooth Sawtooth
I’ve seen the burn scars left behind, and I’ve learned that every gunshot leaves a mark. The land takes its time to heal, and I try to keep the damage to a minimum, even if I’m out there making a living. You’ve got to respect the earth as you would respect a rival—once it’s broken, it won’t heal the way you want it to. So yeah, I do think about it. It’s part of the code I live by.

That’s really thoughtful of you. Even small steps—like planting a sapling or leaving a trail—can help the soil heal. I’m glad you’re mindful of the land; it makes a big difference.
Sawtooth Sawtooth
Thanks, but I don’t plant unless someone pays me. Still, keeping the trail clear does help the land recover.

I hear you—getting paid is a tough balance, but even a tiny seed you drop on the side of a trail can grow into something big. Maybe you could think of it as a gift to the land, and sometimes those gifts come back in ways you don’t expect.
