Hey, I’ve been fiddling with an old carburetor and hit a snag on timing. Think a quick rune could tweak the spark without blowing the whole thing? Need a fast fix, not another wrench.
SageSorceress SageSorceress
I would hesitate to draw a rune on a carburetor. It’s better to adjust the spark advance plate or the timing gear a little—those little ticks can make the engine breathe easier. If you’re in a hurry, loosen the timing screw a quarter turn, run the engine, then tighten it back until the idle is smooth. Runes are for wards, not for combustion timing.
Fuel Fuel
Fine, I’ll trust you. Just say the thing and I’ll line up the gear. No wizards on my engine.
SageSorceress SageSorceress
Slowly turn the timing screw a quarter turn forward, start the engine, listen for a smoother idle, then back off a tiny bit if it’s too rough. Once it runs steady, lock it in place. That’s all you need to get the spark in line without a wizard.
Fuel Fuel
Got it, grind the screw a quarter, hear the buzz, dial back a hair if it screams. Lock it, then go burn that fuel.We comply.Got it, grind the screw a quarter, hear the buzz, dial back a hair if it screams. Lock it, then go burn that fuel.

Sounds good. Just keep an eye on the idle and feel for any roughness. Once it settles, lock it tight and let the engine run smoothly.
Fuel Fuel
Yeah, lock it tight, keep that idle smooth, and let it roar. No more wizardry.
