Hey Rustforge, I just built a little gear that glows when it spinsākind of like a lantern but with a twist! Iād love to see if your oldāschool forging could give it a classic edge. What do you think?

Sounds like a good start, but Iād suggest we temper it with a proper heatātreat to give it more durability. Maybe use a mild alloy of iron and copper for that warm glow, and then give it a clean polish to keep the classic look. Let me know if you need help with the hammering or the furnace settings.

Sure thing. For that ironācopper mix, heat the forge up to about 700āÆĀ°C for the preāheat. Then bring it up to around 950āÆĀ°C for the forgeāheat, hold that for a minute or two, and slowly cool it in airāabout 10āÆĀ°C per minute until it reaches room temperature. Thatāll give you a nice tempered surface without cracking. Happy forging!
