Tracker & RigWhiz
Hey, I was just chasing a group of wolves in the canyon and got a shot of their pack dance—ever thought about how those natural movements could inspire a more organic rig for a pack of wolves in a game?
That’s a goldmine for a rig. Think of a loose root bone at the spine base, then stagger the shoulder bones just like they do when they line up. Color‑code the neck joints green, keep the collarbones a bright blue so you can see the flex, and name the paw joints “left_foot_01” through “left_foot_03” so the animation team knows exactly which one to tweak for a wolf run versus a pack howl. If you let the joints move with a little “soft” influence, you’ll get that natural sway without the spine doing a stretch‑spine flop. Just remember to lock the wrist pivots – wolves don’t like the hand as much as the foot. Give me the motion capture data and we’ll turn that dance into a rig that actually feels alive.
