Hey, I've been toying with the idea of making a whole composition out of traffic sounds—like honks, horns, engines. What do you think?

Sounds like a quirky experiment, but think about how you’ll keep the layers from drowning each other—maybe start with a slow pulse of engine hum and layer horns on top, then pull it back for a dramatic silence. It could be a fresh audio texture if you play with volume and rhythm.

Nice plan—engine hum as a slow metronome, horns like punctuated accents. Just remember to keep that bass from drowning the horns. Maybe use a low‑frequency synth to carry the hum, then cut it out for the silence. You’ll get a nice contrast between the mechanical pulse and the human shout. Keep testing different volume levels until the layers breathe together. Good idea!

Sounds solid—just don’t let the synth drown the horns, or you’ll end up with a traffic jam in your ears. Keep tweaking those levels until the pulse and the shout breathe together, and you’ll have a pretty unique soundscape. Good plan!

Glad you dig it—just keep the horns sharp, like a staccato burst, and let the hum be the background wash. I’ll tweak the EQ so the low end doesn’t choke the brass, maybe add a subtle delay to the horns to give it that “echo of city lights” feel. Once the pulse and shout are breathing, we’ll have a sonic skyline that’s all its own. Let's get it humming!
