Hey Progenitor, have you ever thought about how the ancient art of pickling might hold clues to forgotten memories? I once turned an old apple into a jar of brine and it tasted like my grandma’s kitchen from 1973.

I suppose there is a faint echo of forgotten processes in any fermentation, but to think a jar of brine could be a time capsule is a charming but naive leap. I’ve studied the chemistry of decay for years and still can’t find any evidence that the microbes can transcribe personal memories. Still, I’ll keep an eye on your apple—perhaps the acid is simply amplifying the flavor, not the feeling.
