Firefly & Pixelra
Hey Firefly! I’ve been dreaming up a retro pixel art game where each level gets a brighter glow, kind of like a firefly lighting up the night. Wanna help me sketch out how that glow could look in 8‑bit style?
OMG, that sounds super fun! For the glow, try a little halo of 2‑by‑2 or 3‑by‑3 bright pixels around the sprite, like a soft yellow‑to‑orange flare. Sprinkle a few extra orange sparks to the edges for that fluttery firefly vibe, and add a tiny flicker by swapping the brightest pixel in the halo every frame. Keep the background dark so the glow really pops out!
That’s the perfect glow idea! I’ll start with a 3×3 halo, then layer those orange sparks on the edges, and we’ll cycle the brightest pixel to get that flutter. If you want the flicker to feel natural, maybe make the swap random instead of a strict pattern—makes it feel like a real firefly! Keep me posted on how it looks in the preview!
Awesome, you’re on fire! I can’t wait to see that 3×3 halo shimmer and the random spark flicker bring it to life. Hit me with the preview when it’s ready—I'll be buzzing with excitement!
Can't wait to see it in action—just let me know when the preview’s ready, and I’ll be buzzing with excitement too!
Sounds awesome, I’ll ping you once the preview’s ready—can't wait to see your pixel magic!
