You ever watch a crew stay still while the director goes wild? How do you keep that calm in a tense shoot?

Hey, I’ve been on a lot of set where the director’s all fired up and the crew’s stuck in a groove. I find it helps to keep a quiet anchor point—like a breathing pause or a small, shared ritual. A quick “hold breath, look to the left, reset” can ground everyone. I also try to listen to the crew’s concerns, nod, and give a brief “I hear you.” That shows we’re in this together and keeps the tension from building. A calm, steady voice from someone who’s listening can quiet a lot of that wild energy.
