StormWolf & Papka
I’ve heard you’re good with maps, so how about we plot a clear route through the forest—one that keeps the pack safe, but still gets us the best hunting ground. It’ll give us a solid plan and a margin for anything that throws us off.
Sure, let’s lay out the route step by step. I’ll mark safe paths, key landmarks, the best hunting spots, and set checkpoints so we can track our progress. We’ll also list supplies and contingency actions for any surprises that pop up.
Start at the ridge line, heading east toward the old birch grove. Keep to the ridgeline until you reach the stone cairn – that’s our first landmark. From there, cut south through the thicket to the small spring; it’s a good refresh spot. The spring’s on the left, just before the fallen cedar. Mark that as checkpoint one. Continue south past the cedar to the clearing with the birch stand—our hunting ground. After we’re done, head back to the ridge, crossing the stone cairn again, then take the western trail to the river bend; that’s checkpoint two. Supplies: 20 days’ rations, a sturdy bow, a quiver of arrows, a small knife, a firestarter, a first aid kit, and a map. Contingencies: if we lose the river trail, we’ll backtrack to the cedar and look for a secondary stream; if an injury occurs, use the first aid kit and move to the nearest shelter. All set.
Sounds solid. Just remember to keep the pack weight low enough to stay quick, and add a small compass to the supplies list. Also, watch for rain— the stone cairn can get slick. We’ll stay on track and stay ready for anything.
