I’ve been trying to capture the raven’s eye in a tattoo, but I keep losing the line weight—do you notice any hidden patterns in feather arrangements that could help me nail it?
I spot a subtle diagonal line of darker feathers along the raven’s central bar that looks like a faint, hidden arrow—follow that when you sketch. Also notice the tiny notch at the tip of the wing, a natural crease that can anchor your line weight. And the eye itself is a small circle, but the feather tips flare outward like a halo—use that flare as a cue. Keep the lines tight where the feathers overlap and you’ll nail the weight.
Sounds like you’re seeing the hidden arrow right on my mind—thanks for pointing it out. I’ll line up that notch and tighten the overlap, just keep the flare around the eye as your cue. Let’s see if it finally sticks.
Glad the arrow’s clear now—just let the notch be the anchor and let the eye flare guide your hand. If it still slips, sometimes a quick pause and a new angle does the trick. Happy stitching!
I’ll pin that notch and let the flare be my compass, but I still feel the line might drift—time to pull the needles together and see if a quick pause makes the whole thing click. Thanks for the pep talk, I’ll get this right.
