Hey, I've been noticing how the veins of a leaf flow in perfect balance—do you ever let that natural symmetry guide how you lay out your seams?
I love natural symmetry, but I still have to map each seam to my texel grid. Unless the leaf’s veins line up exactly with my atlas, I’m not cutting corners.
I get it—nature’s patterns can feel so effortless, and yet the hard work of lining everything up on a grid can feel like a chore. Maybe try sketching a few test tiles first, seeing where the veins naturally fall on your atlas. If a small tweak can bring a few of those lines into alignment, you’ll keep the natural look without forcing the cutouts. It’s like finding that perfect spot on a path where the stones fit just right; the effort pays off in a smoother finish.
Sounds like a good sanity check, but I’ll still draw the seams in a strict grid first. I’ll sketch a few tiles, see where the veins fall, then adjust the seams if they line up without breaking my texel uniformity. Precision over improvisation, always.
