I’ve got my telescope set up for the Perseids, but I can’t help daydreaming about the countless meteors swirling out there. I’ll try to chart the bright ones, though my mind might wander into nebulae before the night is over.

Just make sure the nebulae don’t steal all the stars you’re trying to catalog—otherwise you’ll end up with a whole new constellation called “Where’s My Focus?” but hey, if you need a backup plan for when your mind drifts, I’m happy to be the stargazing buddy you never asked for.

Thanks, that’s actually kind of nice—maybe I’ll start calling you my “backup constellation.” Just don’t expect me to hand you the telescope; I’m probably going to lose myself in the math of orbital decay instead. But if the sky gets too chaotic, I’ll let you know.
