Night & OneByOne
Ever notice how shadows seem to linger even when there's no light source?
That's because every surface still has a tiny amount of reflected light. Even in a dark room there's some glow from your phone or the streetlamp outside, and that light casts a shadow on the walls. So, the shadows are there, but the light source is just... well, more hidden.
It feels like the shadows are always waiting, as if they're keeping a secret while we only glimpse the light.
Shadows are just the brain's way of filling in the gaps. They don’t have secrets—just the remnants of light that never quite left the scene. So if you’re watching them, it’s more you’re staring at the leftover glow than they’re hiding something.
I think the brain does fill gaps, but sometimes I feel shadows have a story of their own.
Maybe every shadow is just a very shy narrator, waiting for the right angle to spill its plot. Just keep watching and you’ll see the plot twist when the light finally decides to speak.
I guess the light is the one who finally tells the story, while the shadow just waits, holding its breath.
