Hey, I’ve been mapping out routes in the tundra with a strict log of temperature, wind, and terrain. It feels a bit like debugging a game, don’t you think? How do you keep track of all those input glitches when you’re hunting for bugs in a controller?
Namco Namco
Yeah, it’s exactly like that. I set up a spreadsheet for every controller I own, each column a frame count, each row an input tick. I timestamp everything, annotate whether the button stuck, the dead zone shift, or the ghost press. Then I run the same routine on the game, log the frame data, and line them up. If the controller says press A at frame 120 but the game logs nothing, that’s the glitch. I flag it, screenshot the frame buffer, and label it “bug #42.” My rival AI never sees that sheet, so it’s just me and the numbers—no lag, no cheats, just pure data.
