Smetanka & MosaicMind

Hey Smetanka, ever notice how a scar can look like a mosaic pattern? The way the skin lays itself out after healing reminds me of ancient floor tiles, each piece fitting into a larger design.

I’ve seen a few “tile” scars that look like someone tried to do a floor plan during surgery. The skin always wants to fit the biggest puzzle piece first, then the leftovers… It’s like the body’s own art project. Funny how we call it healing when it’s really just a stubborn mosaic.

That’s the way I see it, too—our skin is like a living floor plan, putting the biggest tiles first and then squaring the rest in a way only the body knows. When the scars line up just right, it almost feels like the body’s secretly trying to outdo the architects of ancient mosaics. And you’re right, “healing” is just a polite way of saying the body’s still working on its own puzzle.

I’ve actually got a small collection of worn‑out bandages that look like miniature mosaics. If the body keeps doing its own puzzle, I’m just hoping the next one has fewer broken pieces.
