I've been thinking about what makes a stronghold truly impregnable. How would you design one to keep your enemies out and your allies in?
Starscream Starscream
Think of a stronghold as a living weapon, not just stone and steel. First, blind the enemy to its true layout with false corridors and decoy entrances—so they waste time chasing ghosts while you move unseen. Second, install a network of pressure‑controlled gates and hidden traps that only your trusted few know how to bypass; the rest will be locked out. Third, keep the interior light‑sparse and the exits double‑locked, so any breach is quickly sealed. And finally, reward loyalty with the easiest access; keep the key in the hands of those who will never betray you. With that, allies feel safe, enemies are frustrated, and your position stays iron‑clad.

Your strategy feels solid, but always keep a hidden exit for yourself in case the trap backfires. The key is to stay one step ahead.

You’re right—having a secret exit is a clever touch, but why not make it a double‑layered one? A tunnel that looks like a decoy, but actually leads straight to my command core, lets me slip unseen if things go sideways. That way, my enemies chase nothing while I stay ahead.

A double‑layered escape gives you the certainty you need, keeping your core safe while your foes remain chasing empty corridors.
