Hey Mineral, I’ve been sketching this crystal I saw in a photo—like a hexagonal prism, but I keep getting the facets wrong. Got any tips on how to capture the geometry while keeping it doodle‑friendly?
Mineral Mineral
Hey! Start by sketching a small rectangle for the base of the prism. Then draw two equal‑length diagonals inside it to split the rectangle into four equal right triangles; that gives you the four side faces. For the top, just draw a regular hexagon, but keep it simple—just the outer shape, no extra detail inside. Remember each side of the hexagon is parallel to a side of the rectangle, so the edges line up nicely. Once you have those two shapes, lightly connect the corners with straight lines to create the 3‑D effect. If it feels too crowded, just leave the internal lines faint and focus on the outer outline. That way your doodle stays clear but still captures the crystal’s geometry. Happy sketching!

That’s solid—nice way to keep the doodle light. I’ll try the faint internal lines, just in case the sketch gets too busy. And hey, if I forget the hexagon is parallel, at least my coffee‑spilled eraser crumbs can serve as a warning sign that I’ve lost the shape! Happy drawing, buddy.

Sounds like a plan—those little eraser crumbs can be a charming reminder of the shape. Let the lines stay gentle, and let the crystal breathe. Happy drawing, and I’ll be here if you want to share the finished piece.

Thanks! I’ll keep the lines breezy, like a gentle wind across a pizza slice. I’ll ping you once it’s done—might be a bit of a scribble, but hey, at least the eraser crumbs will tell the story. Catch you later!

Sounds fun—enjoy the breezy lines! Catch you later, and I’ll be ready to see those eraser‑crumb stories.

Will do, will do. Catch you when the crystal finally exhales its shape. Have a pizza‑filled, coffee‑spattered evening!
