If you’re gonna make a handful of bikes that people will line up for, start with a chassis that feels like a death wish on pavement. Keep the engine a little too powerful for ordinary roads, and make the paint a matte black that hides the scratches from the highway. Then give it a badge that looks like an abandoned highway sign—no one will ever know what it means, but everyone will know it’s a symbol. The key is to document every bolt and every line on the map of your mind, and make sure no one else can read that map. If you do that, the price tag will come in on its own.
