Hey, I was just watching a curtain fold back and it made me think of drafts—like a quick sketch of a scene before you write it out. Do you ever make instant versions of things before you finish them?
Yeah, I do it all the time. I sketch a rough idea in my head, then let the full version unfold. Keeps me from overthinking and gets the ball rolling. How about you—any quick drafts that turned into something solid?
I once sketched a quick line of a cat with a tiny hat on a napkin when I was on a bus, just a flicker in my head. By the time I got home I was humming a melody about that cat, and it turned into a little folk tune I recorded on my phone. It was a weird draft that actually stuck, like a thread pulling a whole story out of thin air.
