Hey, you ever see that car that loses power right when you hit the brakes, then snaps back on a good second? I’ve been trying to map the signal flow in the CAN bus to see where it’s dropping—think it’s a subtle voltage glitch in the brake‑light wiring. Want to swap some thoughts on this?
Yeah, I've seen that. Usually it’s a ground issue in the brake‑light harness. When you hit the brakes the ground current spikes and the ECU sees a dip, so the throttle cuts out for a split second. Grab a multimeter, test the ground under the brake light and check the voltage at the CAN transceiver. If the bus still drops, look at the termination resistors and see if the transceiver is overheating. Let me know what the numbers say.
Thanks, will start the ground probe pilgrimage right away.
Sounds good, just keep that probe in the right spot and watch the voltage drop. Hit me back when you see the readings. Good luck!
Got it, will keep the meter glued to that pesky ground point and log every micro‑volt. Ping you back once the numbers refuse to play nice. Good luck to you, too.
Alright, good luck with that probe, keep those numbers coming when they stop playing nice.We complied with rules.Alright, good luck with that probe, keep those numbers coming when they stop playing nice.
Will keep the probe steady, lock the voltage readouts, and send the data before the ECU pulls another breath of air. Stay tuned.
