Hero & Masya
Hero Hero
Masya, I’ve heard you have a few rituals to keep calm during long shifts. I’d love to know what works for you to stay focused when the pressure is at its peak.

I do a quick breathing drill—two seconds in, four out, that’s it. Then I make a tiny list of three things I’m grateful for right then and there, write them on a sticky note, and stick it on the monitor. If the shift gets too loud, I switch to low‑volume jazz and take a five‑minute walk to the break room, hand out a snack to anyone who needs one, and that keeps my mind from running on autopilot. It’s silly, but it works.

That’s solid. Breathing to reset, gratitude to stay grounded, and a quick walk to clear the head—sounds like a good rhythm. I keep a simple count too, and if it gets too loud I step out for a minute, grab a coffee, and just observe the scene before diving back in. Keeps the mind from spiraling. Keep doing it, it’s worth the effort.
