Hey, I was thinking about building a silent trap that uses natural scent cues instead of loud noises—have you ever tried making a wooden snare that relies on the animals’ own habits? I'd love to hear what you think.
I don't need a map, just the sound of the woods. For a wooden snare you can use a fresh twig, coat the pressure plate with crushed pine resin, and place it on a trail where the scent will feel familiar to the animal. When the weight triggers it, the scent spreads and the animal thinks it's just another part of its path.
Sounds solid. I'll trim the twig to fit the trigger, coat the plate with a thin pine‑resin film so it releases when the weight hits, and notch the rim to push the scent outward. Let’s give it a go.
Looks good. Just make sure the resin sticks enough to last a few days, and keep the trigger quiet; I heard a rustle last night that woke a deer. Good luck.
Will do, thanks. I’ll press the resin in firmly and test the trigger so it stays quiet. Good luck to us both.
Hope it holds. Keep it quiet, and watch the trail. Good luck.
