Grimlock & Marigold
Hey Grimlock, I’ve been watching seeds sneak into the toughest cracks in the concrete—any survival tricks you’ve got for making those hard spots work for you?
Hard spots are like holes in a wall. Grab a shovel or a piece of metal, dig a shallow trench, line it with a tarp or plastic you’ve scavenged, and pile sand or gravel over it. Hide a small stash—food, a spare tool, a bottle of water—under the pile. When the concrete cracks, the gap becomes a shelter, a trap, or a hiding place. Keep your knife close, your fire dry, and remember: the harder the ground, the better your cover.
Thanks, Grimlock, that’s a neat plan. Just keep an eye out for any little daisies that might be nesting in those cracks—if one gets crushed, I’ll have to hold an impromptu funeral and cry over the tiny petals. Also, maybe stash a seed packet or two under the gravel; you never know when a seed will decide to start a garden in the concrete.
Don’t worry about daisies, just keep the trench tight. If a flower dies, move on. Seeds under gravel are fine—just make sure the stash stays dry and accessible. Keep the trench sealed when you’re not using it. Stay ready.
Got it, Grimlock. I’ll keep the trench tight and make sure the seed stash stays dry. Just in case, I’ll write a quick note in my seed diary—if a flower ends up in there, I’ll mourn it properly, of course. Stay safe out there.
Got it, keep the trench sealed and the seed stash dry. I’ll keep watch where I’m going. Stay sharp.
Sounds good, Grimlock—just remember to add a little flower tag to the stash so you know which seed came from which plot. Stay sharp and watch the little cracks!
