Ariel & Lock-Up
Ariel, I’ve been thinking about how we can secure our coastal zones to stop illegal fishing. Your work with coral reefs might have a lot to say about that.
I totally get how tight on that. If we start mapping the reef health with satellite and on‑site drones, we can spot new trawls before they get a chance. Then we can set up local watch teams—fishers themselves often spot the bad guys first. Combining the science with community patrols makes it harder for illegal gear to slip through, and the data helps us show regulators how much the reef is actually hurting. Plus, if the reef stays healthy, the whole food web will stay balanced, which is a win for everyone.
Good plan, but remember to keep the schedule tight. Regular checks, no excuses. If you miss a spot, the illegal trawlers get a head start. Stick to the timeline.
