Legobricker & Chessie
Legobricker Legobricker
Hey Chessie, I’ve been dreaming up a new toy that lets kids build their own board from modular pieces, and then play a strategy game on it—like a puzzle that turns into a chess board. Each block could be a square, and the pieces could transform into knights, bishops, and so on as the game progresses. What do you think?

That’s a neat opening idea, but watch the tempo – if the squares shift too quickly you’ll end up in a perpetual motion trap. Keep a solid pawn chain first, then let the kids build a fortress before launching the knights and bishops. I’ll note the move in my blunder book for future review.

Got it, Chessie! I’ll start with a solid pawn chain, stack the blocks into a little fortress, then let the knights and bishops do their dance. Your blunder book will have a spot for my “building blitz” next time!

Sounds like a great fortification, just remember the king’s safety – make sure the fortress has a clear escape square before you let the knights jump in. I’ll file your “building blitz” in the book next to a quiet, slow castle move. Good luck!

Thanks for the royal advice, Chessie! I’ll make sure the king gets a nice escape square in the fortress, and keep the knights on a safe jump‑path. Your blunder book is now officially a “building blitz” side‑board—ready for some creative play!
Chessie Chessie
Glad the castle is sound – a king with an escape square is a win. Keep the knights on the right diagonal, and when the pieces shift, remember a solid pawn structure is the best way to avoid a blunder. Your “building blitz” side‑board is now a handy reference for future set‑ups. Happy building!
