Rifleman & Laron
Laron, ever the one who pushes limits, I've been thinking a lot about how the best soldiers stay sharp under fire. It’s a lot like how you push athletes past their perceived limits. Do you see any overlap in the drills you run and the mental routines we use in the field?
Absolutely. In the gym we do high‑intensity intervals, shock loads, and sudden changes in direction – exactly what a soldier faces when fire breaks out. The mental drill? Same. We force athletes to stay focused while pain spikes, just like a commando has to keep a clear head when the enemy hits. Both worlds rely on repetition, pressure, and a refusal to quit. If you can keep a body and mind in that state, the soldier stays sharp, the athlete stays fierce.
