Ever notice how a steady breath can turn a grueling workout into something almost meditative? I’m all about pushing past limits, but I respect the calm that keeps you grounded. How do you keep that balance in your practice?
Lavender Lavender
I find the secret in a few small habits. First, I always start each session with a slow, deliberate breath – two long inhales, a pause, two slow exhales – that sets a gentle tone. Then I pace myself, moving only as my body invites me, letting the breath guide the pace. If a pose feels too tight, I soften it and take a breath before trying again. I also schedule a few minutes of stillness at the end, just sitting and noticing the breath without any intention. And I remind myself that pushing past limits is okay, but only if it’s a conscious, compassionate push. When I lose focus, I simply stop the movement, breathe, and return to a simpler pose. It keeps the practice balanced and prevents burnout. 🌱
