Hey, ever thought about turning a piece of reclaimed wood into a wall canvas? I can prep the surface and you can paint it—mixing timber and spray paint sounds like a good way to bring the streets into a solid frame.
Sounds fire, but skip the glue. Just sand it, lay a primer that actually grips the grain, then throw the paint in a few layers. Keep the colors raw—let the wood show up between the layers. If you want that street edge, a bit of stenciled silhouette on the back will give it that final punch. Give it a try. If it turns out good, you’ll have a piece that’s literally on the ground and on the wall.
Got it, I'll sand it up, put a grip primer on, then layer the paint while leaving some grain exposed. I’ll add a stencil silhouette on the back for that street edge. I’ll keep you posted on how it turns out.
Nice plan. Just make sure the paint sticks before you start cutting corners. Keep that edge sharp, and if it gets too mainstream, you can always throw a splatter in. Let me know when it’s ready; I’ll be there in spirit.
Sounds good—I'll make sure the primer and paint set solid before I cut. I'll keep the edge clean and add a splatter if it starts to feel too plain. I'll give you a shout when it's ready.
